Rick Kelly has upgraded his BP Supercars All Stars Eseries racing simulator thanks to Simworx. The upgrades come just in time for a big round three this week as the Eseries heads to the iconic Mount Panorama circuit, Bathurst, where Rick has won the 1000 twice in his Supercars career.
The key to simulator racing is getting as much feedback through the steering and brakes as there is no feel for the motion of the car through the seat. Having a good quality steering and pedal setup can help to reduce brake locking while increasing steering feedback and ultimately cut lap times.
Simworx have supplied Rick with their high-level steering motor to provide more steering feel while Rick has adapted this to work with his Supercars steering wheel. Rick has also jumped on the soldering ion to setup all of his buttons to customize the wheel.
Simworx have also provided a big upgrade with their pedal setup which mirrors the type of brake, clutch and accelerator design that you can find in race cars right around the world, including the Ford Mustang Supercar. These brakes can require up to 140kg of force to operate so they are as close to the real thing as you can get with plenty of adjustability to suit your setup.
André Heimgartner has also received some upgrades to his simulator thanks to Aftershock PC. André’s original gaming PC gave up the ghost last week before round two, thankfully Aftershock were able to supply a new top-level computer just in time for André to go racing.
The Eseries heads to Bathurst this week with three big races at the mountain and qualifying will incorporate a top-ten shootout for the first time. The action kicks off tomorrow night from 6pm AEST.
